What’s Inside the Prototype?

Each copy of Battle Tactics contains:

  • A Tuckbox: Compact and sturdy, perfect for a pocket-sized game.

  • 36 Battle Tactics Cards: Standard poker-sized (300gsm with white core) for excellent durability and smooth handling.

  • A Rule Sheet: Clear and concise instructions to get you playing in no time.

The 300gsm white core cards offer the perfect balance between affordability and quality, making them ideal for both prototypes and the regular version of the game. And the best part? LaunchTabletop delivers the prototypes wrapped and ready to send, saving valuable time and ensuring a polished presentation.

How to Play Battle Tactics

Battle Tactics is a quick and engaging two-player card game that’s easy to learn but offers plenty of strategic depth. Here’s a brief overview of the rules:

1️⃣ Setup:
Each player starts with 5 cards in hand, drawn from a shared deck of 36 Battle Tactics cards.

2️⃣ Gameplay:
Players take turns drawing 3 additional cards at the start of each round. Then, they choose their battle tactics from 5 unique maneuvers:

  • Main Assault

  • Outflank

  • Encirclement

  • Fortify (stays on the battlefield for the next round)

  • Tactical Retreat (returns to the player’s hand after use).

Players reveal their chosen cards simultaneously and resolve battles head-to-head, with each tactic designed to counter or complement the others.

3️⃣ Winning the Game:
The game ends when:

  • One player’s morale (starting at 6) is reduced to zero, or

  • The deck runs out of cards.
If the deck runs out and both players still have morale points, the player with the higher morale wins. In case of a tie, the discarded cards are shuffled, and the battle continues until a clear winner emerges.

It’s simple, fast, and perfect for quick play sessions anywhere—from game nights to plane rides.

Why LaunchTabletop?

When it came to producing prototypes, LaunchTabletop was an easy choice. Their ability to deliver high-quality prototypes at a reasonable price impressed me from the start. The tuckbox, cards, and rule sheet are professionally packaged and ready to ship, saving me time and effort.

As a first-time game creator, I appreciate their attention to detail and the balance they strike between affordability and quality. These prototypes not only look great but also give a true sense of what the final product will feel like in players’ hands.

What’s Next for Battle Tactics?

With 10 copies of the prototype now ready, I plan to send them out to reviewers and as gifts to the tabletop gaming community. This is a critical step in sharing Battle Tactics with a larger audience and gathering valuable feedback before the final launch.
